The Venice Sailing Squadron is an active racing club.  During the October-to-May racing season, the VSS sponsors regular buoy races as well as a series of regattas off the coast of Venice and Nokomis in the Gulf of Mexico.  The club is a member of the Sarasota Bay Yachting Association (SBYA) and US Sailing. 

The Notice of Series for the 2024-2025 Season has been posted.

Our races encourage friendly competition and the development of sailing skills among boats and crews of all experience levels.  Boats considering entering a race or the series are encouraged to review the notice, and to reach out with any questions.

For owners that are curious and just want to try some racing, we offer available crew to help you race the boat, show you how to start and sail the course, or give a refresher on the racing rules. These races are a great way to use your boat actively, and fine tune your skills to sail as efficiently as possible.  Come join us!
